“I’m getting rid of any hesitations, anything holding me back from travelling deeper, further, to find my true and absolute creative self.”
So wrote the artist and acclaimed glass sculptor, Kathryn M Holford, reflecting on her decision to move to France with her husband in 2017. The move became a catalyst for a sudden and profound passion for painting, a latent desire that was so well hidden that when it finally emerged, Kathryn’s first question was, ‘Am I allowed?’. She granted herself permission to paint, and what followed was the blossoming of an incendiary painter. Kathryn’s command of colour and form was astonishing. She died in March 2023, but she leaves a remarkable and lasting legacy, beautifully documented in this book by her husband, Mark. With excerpts from Kathryn’s diary, every page brings us further into the creative mind of this remarkable artist. We are witness to an artist in both evolution and revolution.
